Highwoods narrowly lost out by two points to the hosts Chestfield Golf Club in the inaugural Six Way Centenary Cup on Sunday 15 September.
The six mixed teams of eight players were all from the south east and celebrating their centenary year and along with Highwoods, included Knole Park, Tyrrells Wood, Mitcham, Tandridge and Chestfield.
It was a tremendous effort by the Highwoods team, which consisted of our two captain’s, Keith and Rita, Colin Sleath, Ally Munro, Sue and Peter Mead, Marian Robinson and Alison Bough.
The match was an individual Stableford with all scores to count. Highwoods scored a total of 248 points and although did not not come away with the trophy each team member received a 1924 Farthing as a memento of the day from the hosts.
